Sister Thea Bowman was a teacher and scholar who assisted in the production of an African-American Catholic hymnal as well as helped found the National Black Sisters Conference which provides support for African-American women in Catholic religious institutes. In 2018, she was designated a Servant of God which is the first of he four steps toward sainthood.
On March 26, 2022, Holy Family held a tribute to Sister Thea Bowman that featured music, speakers, and liturgical dance.
